The fifth and final volume of Dolf Goldsmith’s Browning Machine Gun series. Volume V: Dolf’s Notebook ties it all together with hints and tips for working on Browning machine guns, all culled from Dolf’s 70 years of experience and experimentation with the weapons in question.

To complete the story, this book, although not a part of the 4-volume history and development set (which also included the .50 Browning) was undertaken as a parallel writing effort. When material seemed too technical to form a part of the other volumes, it was set aside to be used for an eventual “hands-on” technical volume. Volume V covers component identification (including the various styles), pinpointing causes of malfunctions and the necessary corrective actions, explaining the mysteries of headspace and timing, history of accuracy tests and much more.
